Some recent engagements the firm has undertaken:

  • A Fortune 50 media and cable company hired La Bella & McNamara to bring a trademark infringement case against a satellite programming reseller. The firm sought and received injunctive relief on behalf of the client, ultimately reaching a settlement which included the entry of a permanent injunction and the payment of attorneys' fees by the defendant.
  • Peregrine Systems, Inc. hired La Bella & McNamara to represent the company before the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") and the Justice Department. The firm was recently able to negotiate a very favorable settlement with the SEC. La Bella & McNamara has assisted the company in the establishment and implementation of a substantive Compliance Program.
  • A start-up software company hired La Bella & McNamara to defend it in an action brought by another software company concerning a venture capital and licensing dispute.
  • The University of California hired La Bella & McNamara to assist in a joint investigation involving the FBI, the Energy Department and the U.S. House of Representatives into allegations of obstruction and cover-up at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
  • A senior executive hired La Bella & McNamara to file a whistleblower suit against his former employer.
  • An aerospace company hired La Bella & McNamara to represent the company in an investigation being conducted by the Justice Department.
  • The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York appointed one of the firm's partners to act as receiver in an action brought by the SEC against Millennium Financial, Ltd.
  • A publicly traded company hired La Bella & McNamara to conduct an internal investigation and issue a report into possible accounting irregularities.
  • The Chief Executive Officer of a publicly traded company hired La Bella & McNamara to represent the executive in an investigation being conducted by the Justice Department.
  • A senior executive in a health care company hired La Bella & McNamara to represent the executive in a Justice Department prosecution.
  • The United States District Court for the District of Nevada appointed one of the firm's partners to act as receiver in an action brought by the Federal Trade Commission against Seasilver USA, Inc.
  • An executive in the energy field hired La Bella & McNamara to represent the executive in an investigation into energy price manipulation being conducted by the Justice Department.
