Yuliya Ivanov graduated summa cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where she was named to the Thomas Jefferson Honor Roll and Distinguished Honor Roll and was selected several times for publication in "The National Dean's List" and "Who's Who: America's Law Students". Ms. Ivanov was a member of the Thomas Jefferson Law Review and received numerous academic awards and recognitions. These awards include an academic fellowship by the Thomas Jefferson Center for Law and Social Justice, as well as Cali Excellence Award, Witkin Award and Jefferson Medal for achieving the top grade in Evidence, Civil Procedure, California Civil Procedure, Trial Practice, Remedies, International Law, Community Property, and Pretrial Preparation.

While attending law school Ms. Ivanov competed in several national and intra-school trial competitions as a member of the Thomas Jefferson Mock Trial Team. She also served as a judicial extern for the San Diego Immigration Court and worked as a small claims legal advisor at the San Diego Superior Court.

Ms. Ivanov earned her B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis on Criminology, Law and Deviance with a minor in Psychology from the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) in 2003. She fluently speaks, reads, and writes in Russian and Ukrainian languages.

Ms. Ivanov joined La Bella & McNamara in 2008. She is admitted to the State Bar of California, and is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the North County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
